Through YouTube's analytics features I have been able to track the specifics of viewers for the MWHS Wildcat News. This information is important for myself and the rest of the staff to know in order to produce and publish content that targets our audience.
WHERE VIEWERS ARE COMING FROM
Knowing where the majority of our viewership comes from is essential to best reach our audience. Through this data we are able to cover stories that impact our audience based on their location. This is especially important in news stories when focusing on the news value of proximity. Most viewers come from within the United States, but we have also been able to reach viewers in other countries including India, the United Kingdom, Columbia and Algeria.
DEMOGRAPHICS
The 35-44 year old age range is the age demographic that most frequently views our content. These are teachers and parents of students so we cover content that they are interested in like news stories, sporting events and features on students. Gender wise our demographic for the MWHS Wildcat News is split very evenly so our coverage is gender neutral.
