Switching up the

Last year, when covering softball, I wrote my story over how the team used one of the many problems that COVID-19 caused to their advantage. I incorporated stats from the games and learned about softball terminology by researching and talking to several players on the team. This story was difficult for me to write because I was quarantined at the time, but I worked around that by communicating with sources virtually.

The first time I ever covered a sport was a girls golf spread during my first year on the Prowler staff. Initially we had one story, but the day before it was due the editors redesigned it and added a secondary story. In a matter of twenty four hours my partner and I interviewed sources and wrote the story. This was my first experience with a very small window to work on a story and it prepared me to write stories quickly later on in my high school journalism career.
