Instagram Analytics

I run the Prowler Yearbook Instagram account and am on the social media team for the Catalyst Newspaper. Through Instagram's analytic features I have been able to find out who our audience on Instagram is and target posts towards them.

 Demographics

Instagram tracks the demographics of people who interact with our posts. Through this I have noticed that we have a younger and more female heavy following on Instagram. Below you can see the demographics I have used and the content that came out of them.

A majority of our followers on both accounts are in the 13-17 and 18-24 age ranges. Using this information I started posting content that related to students more than parents. Below is a post I made on the Prowler from a football game that gained a lot of student attention and was reposted several times by students.

68.8% of the Prowler's and 73.4% of the Catalyst's page visitors and followers are female. Below is a post that I made on the Prowler Instagram to target our female audience. Even though there are males in show choir I selected a female heavy photo for the post to target our female audience.

Questions

In order to cover the content that our audience wants we frequently post questions on our Instagram stories to gauge what our viewers want to see in our publications.
